Time

Time is inconsequential. It’s relative to what is done with it and how it is used. Other than that it doesn’t quite matter. On Thursday, the Holy Spirit moved me to pay attention to the seasons and time then consider what they’re both telling me. Tell me this, would you be able to decipher what season you were in if you wore a mask? The answer would probably be yes. I certainly can tell by the temperature when it is winter, or the sun blazing on my skin when it is summer, but how about Spring or Fall? Here’s my point, if you were not accustomed to the seasons of your life would you be able to pinpoint exactly which season you were in? Think about that.

Without proper guidance and direction if you wore a mask wouldn’t you agree, confusion and lack of awareness would be prevalent? The mask I am referring to in this post is a spiritual one, often placed on you without your knowledge or awareness. The adversary (satan) enjoys slipping on “spiritual masks” over your spiritual eyes in order to prevent you from recognizing what season you are truly in.

As a result, time ultimately begins to work against you. In this case, by allowing seasons of comfort to guide your steps instead of the Holy Spirit. It’s during these seasons of comfort that habits turn to bondage which can take ten, twenty sometimes thirty-years to break free from. Only with the help of the Lord, through deliverance will there be freedom. Satan does not want you to know what season you’re in spiritually, especially if you aren’t allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your footsteps. Psalm 37:23 says, “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” NIV 

Jesus does the exact opposite that satan is doing right now! As Chief Intercessor, he’s constantly praying on your behalf and pleading for you. Your comforter and source of wisdom, the Holy Spirit is ready and willing to unveil what season you’re in when asked. All you have to do is ask and fervently seek him. He will reveal to you what season of life you are in just as plain and simple as you need him to.

Ecclesiastes 3 declares: There is a “Time” For Everything.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”

You may need to re-read those versus again. I know I did.  Then ask yourself, is it possible you might have traveled from season to season and not even known it? Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to guide your steps or are circumstances, loved ones, careers, habits, emotions, and finances guiding them? Let’s go a step further, could your past secrets be guiding your steps? Have you allowed yourself to be swayed like the palm tree during the storm of spiritual blindness? A palm tree sways from side to side effortlessly during a violent storm. It cannot keep its original shape or condition because of the beating it takes from all of the elements it has to endure. During the storm, the palm tree is unable to control itself or resemble its original form-strong and durable. It is without protection from everything that is going on around it. Jesus in all of his might and glory wants to protect you, your heart and your steps during the storms of life. He wants to bring you (everything about you) and your loved ones into direct alignment with His will. You won’t sway like the palm tree in the violent spiritual storm when Jesus orders His angels to surround you, arm in arm in protection of you. The question is, do you know what season you are in? Will you seek Jesus long enough to allow Him to tell you? 

Declaration of the day,

“I DECLARE, I am no longer blinded by satan and my own habits. I will allow the Holy Spirit to guide me back to his sovereign order. My steps are ordered and I will live victoriously and righteously. I will seek the guidance and counsel of the Holy Spirit over man’s counsel. I am the head and not the tail therefore I expect to have supernatural strategy for all seasons. I am coming into direct alignment with the plans and purposes God established for me long ago. I will allow myself to be vulnerable in Jesus while he takes the headship of my life and I take the back seat. I am triumphant alone in Christ, in Jesus Name…Amen.”
