The Month of Isaachar

Long before America had a calendar, the Jewish people had the Hebrew calendar. The Hebrew or Jewish calendar is a lunisolar calendar used today predominantly for Jewish religious observances. It determines the dates for Jewish holidays and the appropriate public reading of Torah portions, and daily Psalm readings, among many ceremonial uses. In Israel, it is used for religious purposes, provides a time frame for agriculture and is an official calendar for civil purposes, although the latter usage has been steadily declining in favor of the Gregorian calendar. The month of May in the Gregorian calendar is the month of Iyar also known as Issachar in the Hebrew calendar. What does this mean?

The Month of Issachar is Your Time! Issachar means rewards, recompense! Throughout the history of ancient Israel, the tribe of Issachar is portrayed as a family that was destined to prosper both physically and spiritually. The ancient Rabbis taught that the sons of Issachar were not only “mighty men of valor” (1 Chron. 7:1-5), but they were also called to serve the other tribes in the areas of finance and the ministry of God’s Torah. Issachar’s allotment of the Promised Land primarily consisted of the valley of Jezreel. This was the richest farm land in all Israel, which also had access to the Mediterranean Sea. Consequently, the sons of Issachar “drew out the abundance of the sea and the hidden treasures of the sand” (Deut. 33:18-19).

How do you know when you’re in time, out of time, missed your time, ahead of time or have no idea what time it is? All it takes is to possess a precious piece called a WATCH. God has a time for everything and He doesn’t leave you guessing what time it is – that wouldn’t be right. So let’s get you the watch and within minutes you will know what time it is on God’s agenda and where you should be. TIME. IT’S TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE. THIS IS THE MONTH OF ISSACHAR and therefore there is an Issachar anointing that you cannot miss.

The Issachar Month – 1 Chronicles 12:32, “From Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command” Traditionally, the 12 months of the year have been assigned to the 12 tribes of Israel. The month of Iyar was assigned to Issachar. The anointing of Issachar, “who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” Compare this with Ephesians 5:15-17, which commands us to understand the times for the days are evil. This enables us to keep moving ahead. This month, take time to ask God to help you understand what the will of the Lord is, what He wants to do in our life, and determine to accept it. This is YOUR TIME!

Iyar –The Issachar Month – A Crucial Month

  • Second month after Nisan…a month of transition from Passover to Pentecost.
  • Issachar was the 9th son of Jacob, 5th son of Leah.
  • His name means ‘he will bring a reward’ (Gen 30:18)

In the Gregorian calendar we are in the year 2017. In the Hebrew calendar this is the year 5777 which means The Clashing of Swords. 5777 began at sunset on 2 October 2016 and will end at sunset on 20 September 2017.

International bible scholar and teacher, Lance Wallnau defined the year 5777 like this:
There are three “7” in this Jewish new year. Interestingly, the number “7” in Hebrew is the letter “zayin” which represents both the number “7” and the word “sword.” What we are looking at in 5777 is, “The year of supernatural grace (5) to engage the clashing of swords (7). The clashing of heaven and hell will show up in the conflict of ideologies. This collision of kingdoms has already started.”

So my friends, it’s your time! Expect God to reveal many mysteries to you during your times of study. Do more exercise this month and expect supernatural healing to occur in your body! Increase your personal praise of God during your days. We can expect the mighty God of Israel to perform that which He said he would. I took the entire month of Nisan off and dedicated it as a First Fruits offering to the Lord, suffice it to say I AM EXPECTING!!! I’m praying for your breakthrough!

  1. Strange enough (not so strange anymore) there was this intensity the end of last month that keep inciting me to align my heart and my mind in position and to set aside May for some specific Kingdom activity. Now I come across this confirmation of an article. I love the Holy Spirit!
