You Have Not Because You Ask Not…

March 10, 2016

by: Ciara Leilani

I wrote a few petitions to present to Jesus while in your personal prayer time. I encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit into your space where you plan to pray. The Scriptures were written to guide us in all things to include our prayers. Open your heart and ask with full transparency and sincerity. Surely, God hears the cries of his children, and I believe goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life.

Fighting the Fire of Offense

Backburning

February 15, 2016

by: Ciara Leilani

Spiritually speaking, one cannot fight fire with fire. However in the natural, when firemen battle wild and ranging forest fires they have several methods of fighting against the threat. Some use a method known as Fuel Reduction and others use Back Burning. Fuel reduction is the targeted burning of bushland to control fire behavior. The idea is to reduce the intensity of subsequent fires at the same place by removing fine surface fuels such as leaf litter. Reducing these hazards increases the window of opportunity for fire fighters to control bushfires. Back burning is a technique utilized in controlled burning and during wildfire events. While controlled burns utilize back burning during planned fire events to create a “black line”, back burning or backfiring is also done to stop a wildfire that is already in progress. Back burning is a way of reducing the amount of flammable material during a controlled burn or wildfire by starting small fires along a man made or natural firebreak in front of a main fire front. It is called back burning because the small fires are designed to ‘burn back towards the main fire front’ and are usually burning and traveling against ground level winds. My Open Letter

January 2, 2016

by: Ciara Leilani

Heavenly Father,

Here is an open letter written before Your eyes for all to participate in the edifying of Your existence. You are a remarkably faithful God who keeps covenants with all who enter into solemn promise with you. You extend the lives of the hurting so they might experience Your hands and feet through Your servants here on earth. Your heart moves with compassion for the lost, even though Your Word cannot be defiled or replaced. All will speak the words you have written, “Jesus Christ is Lord!”

Father, this new year is like thousands of others which began with a first day full of joy and laughter, as well as hopeful plans and bright resolutions. Many have begun this year in prayer while on their knees. They’ve prayed to a god, even if it was not you-The Most High God.  Continue reading “My Open Letter”

The Effects of Rejection

December 7, 2015

by: Ciara Leilani

Most don’t talk about it, because they can’t even identify the source of it. “It” is pain and the source of “it” is rejection. How you react to the hurt of rejection can further complicate your life and give added advantage to the devil. He does not play fair, therefore he will do anything within his power and right to destroy whatever good is left within your heart, family, children and/or legacy. Rejection is the most common and most neglected wound in a person’s soul. The sting of rejection, causes hidden compartments of the heart to be covered by anything and everything possible in order to avoid feeling that particular pain again. Rejection is a spiritual pain that manifests in the natural being of man. God made man as one being with three distinct sections: spirit, soul and body. When the spirit of a man is crushed, the flesh (body) bears resemblance of such pain.
“The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity (sickness, disease, weakness) but a wounded spirit who can bear?” Proverbs 18:14
It is the wounding of your personality, that opens doors for unclean spirits to enter. This happens whenever a person is denied necessary love. Sin wounds us. Words wound us. Actions wound us. There’s no timetable for rejection. It can occur at any time in one’s life, from conception onward. From the beginning, the DNA of mankind has been to give and receive love. It’s was created to work in constant cycles of repetition. A person is able to give love after learning how to receive love….unfortunately a glitch temporarily interrupted that cycle until Jesus repaired it. The good news is: REJECTION CAN BE OVERCOME!!!

If Caring Was Enough

December 3, 2015

by: Ciara Leilani

Caring is symbolic of having a heart condition known as compassion. A heart of compassion exposes your most inner vulnerabilities to the vile and inhumane personalities of this world. There is such a thing called grace, to cover such a heart. The world would like for you to think, having a heart that cares is actually a human defect, but God uses such a heart to return souls back into his kingdom. Compassion is the main emotion Jesus operated through when completing his assignment here on earth. He had a heart full of compassion for you. He cared about what would happen to every human being if he did not do what was needed. He also knew caring was not enough, which required him to act in order to fulfill the mandate on his life.

If caring was all that was needed, every human being alive would be saved. But it’s not. If caring was all that was needed to heal the woes of this world, we’d have a perfect atmosphere without pain, suffering, malice, shame or hatred. As we know it, caring is just not enough. Action is required by my fellow-man to fulfill what God purposed mankind to do. Continue reading “If Caring Was Enough”

A Christian’s War

December 1, 2015

by: Ciara Leilani

For the average Christian, strategy in how to stay alive is not a daily request during prayer. It’s a common misconception amongst the evangelicals, and quite frankly unheard of amongst the practical thinkers. “Ask for strategy, who me?” Yes you, ask the living Spirit of God, the Spirit of Wisdom for strategy on how to survive daily attacks from the unseen enemy. The enemy spoken of is the enemy of the Christian faith, satan.

Long before I knew I was in the middle of a war, I understood there was something not quite right with the way I’d handle certain matters. I would respond too quickly with emotions that seemed to stem from an offense unbeknown to me, was somehow festering within me. How could I justify my actions if I did not know the source? Fast forward, now I find myself asking the Holy Spirit for counsel on a host of matters involving my most inner self. It’s within the confined fibers of the human heart where the combat zone dwells while the battlefield rages inside of the mind. Continue reading “A Christian’s War”
